SYNOPSIS
Jean-Paul Sartre’s cathartic portrait of Hell premiered in Paris in May 1944. Over two weekends in May and June 2024 in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City, this 80th anniversary production transports audiences back to Sartre’s grim room and reminds us the play and its themes are as timeless as ever. Reviewer Callie Stribling credits “a team that can keep the audience trapped in a room completely engrossed,” while Art Independent writes that the actors “made a feast of the delicious material.”
